Cheris is capable of exceptionally precise and quick cold and deep reads of a person ( their personality, psyche and psychoemotional state ) based on body language, vocal tone, word choice, microexpressions, etc. This is the result of eating the ghost of a dead multipurpose intelligence operative that had actively honed such skills for like, ~400 years.

It's safe to assume that Cheris is always studying your character, however!
